Posted on

There was a major upset at Fraser Park last Saturday in the NoSCA Senior League (sponsored by Black Dog Financial Services Ltd) when 2013 champions Fochabers lost their unbeaten record as they were comprehensively defeated by Highland, who won by 63 runs after posting 171 for 9 in their 45 overs.

Elsewhere Ross County managed their first win of the season at home to Elgin, their 171 all out (off the last ball) was built around 68 from Graham Carney and 44 from Nuann Eshwara, who went on to take 2 for 26 in 12 overs in helping to restrict Elgin to 142 all out. Forres and Buckie recorded comfortable wins at Fort William and Nairn respectively.

On Sunday, in the Reserve League, Fort William finally got their league programme underway with a 3 wicket win at Fochabers, while Nairn recorded their first win of the year (at home to Ross County) and Buckie beat Forres at Linzie Gordon Park.
